lay down a stunning mix of deep and minimal house, including old and new
cuts from the likes of Carl Craig, Oscar G, Ferrer & Sydenham and Stefan
Goldmann.
The COAST2COAST series proudly adds Germany�s Âme to the roster (following
in the footsteps of Ron Trent, Quentin Harris and Kerri Chandler). Frank
Wiedemann & Kristian Beyer show us just why they are being hailed as the best
production & DJ team on the planet right now, with a sophisticated and well
programmed DJ mix that teases and touches with dubby house sounds, intricate
minimal techno and soulful instrumentals.
There genre-breaking "Rej" track from 2005 was perhaps one of the biggest
underground records that year, and was subsequently licensed to Defected from
Sonar Kollectiv, the German label that the guys began honing their sound for.
Kristian and Frank first met up through Kristian's recordshop "Plattentasche"
in Karlsruhe , Germany. Frank, already experienced with his former project Soul
FC (release on FSOJ), and Kristian, being a scientific music nerd in a positive
way, one day decided to tweak the knobs together. Kristian has always been
turned on by the voices shouting out of motor city, by the likes of Moodyman,
Underground Resistance and Carl Craig as well as the New York City Sound of
Blaze and Metro Area, whereas Frank�s broad spectrum of influences ranges from
Chateau Flight, John Tejada over to IG Culture and Jazzanova. Brilliant remixes
for the likes of Roy Ayers, Rodamaal, Akabu and Ferrer & Sydenham have put Ame
on the production map, and the duo have been tearing up nightclubs with their*
no-nonsense, intelligent house sounds all over the World of late. |
